The Computrans V2 immobilizer interface module is used when installing remote start products in vehicles equipped with a Radio Frequency based immobilizer system. This type of system uses a small chip imbedded in the ignition key, called a transponder, to transmit a very low powered RF signal. If your vehicle has this type of security system, you will need this type of bypass module to be able to install a remote starter. This module is used by taking one of your spare keys and inserting it into this module and mounting it in the vehicle. The module reads the signal sent from the key and transmits it to a ring installed around your key cylinder, tricking the car into thinking the factory key is in the ignition cylinder.
